The Broad Horizons Stability Grant offers short-term financial assistance for rent, utilities, and emergency shelter coordination, helping families navigate housing crises while maintaining their dignity and independence.

We provide emergency rent, utility, and temporary housing aid to families facing housing crises. Our program focuses on households with disabilities, high vulnerability seniors, single parents, and survivors of violence who need immediate support to maintain stable housing.
To qualify for the Broad Horizons Stability Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Must be current residents of Dane County, Wisconsin with proof of residency.
Household income must be ≤ 50% Area Median Income (e.g., $42,000/year for family of 4).
Household includes person with physical, developmental, or mental health disability, or high vulnerability status.
Must face immediate housing crisis: eviction notice, unsafe conditions, or utility shutoff.
Up to $1,000 paid directly to landlord for rent assistance or security deposits.
Up to $500 for electric, water, heating, or other essential utility services.
30-day emergency placement coordination with partner organizations like The Beacon/Porchlight.
